Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it: a mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But, despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever and even worse, he's started spending time with Nora's arch-enemy, Marcie Millar.
Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadnt been acting so distant. Even with Scott's totally infuriating attitude Nora finds herself drawn to him - despite her lingering feeling that he's hiding something.
Haunted by images of her murdered father, and questioning whether her nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death, Nora puts herself increasingly in dangerous situations as she desperately searches for answers. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything - and everyone - she trusts.

My Thoughts: Had such a 'second book syndrome' in the beginning... But then it got better.
Crescendo starts off where Hush, Hush began, with Nora and Patch happy together and 'safe'. But Nora and Patch start having some problems that include Marcie and their relationship starts going downhill. Honestly, I think Nora had a very huge part in all their fights. Patch has his reasons for spending time with Marcie, and Nora's level of jealousy was a little over the top in my opinion. I really thought Nora was a great character in the first book, but in this one she seemed more immature and whiny. Not as likeable, which made me kind of sad. The fact that her and Patch weren't as together as they were before made me sort of mad because it seems like in so many book series, the second book is always the one where the couple are fighting and of course, the other guy steps in. Yup, there's another guy. Scott Parnell. I don't like Scott. He's just... Not my type. He was rude and arrogant and not-so great. I was rooting for Patch the whole way through.
So that's kind of the first half... But then, it got so much better. I won't say all that happens because of spoilers, but I'll just say that it was really good. There was a lot of action and crazy, unexpected stuff happens that blew my mind. The 'bad guy' in this one... I had no idea. I didn't expect it for a second. Plus, a whole bunch of stuff that happens with Marcie and her dad... Nuts. I was really pleased about how this half redeemed the entire book. What started off as a slow, lagging story became fast-paced and unputdownable. When it ended I was almost in tears. The cliffhanger made me want to scream. I was in Social Studies, the class silent with people trying to finish taking notes. I finished the last page and I kind of, maybe, let out a whispered-scream "What???!!!" The class all turned their heads and looked at me... But then I held up the book and they nodded in understanding. I think my socials class is used to my reactions to books. :P The Hush, Hush series is absolutely worth the read. It is a really good story, with twists and turns that will have you reading it nonstop.
I'm sorry I haven't been posting in the past few days... I've had a ton of projects for school due and with finals coming up in a couple weeks, I've been studying like a madman. I really haven't gotten out of the house... But, I'm back and I'll be scheduling some reviews so that if I do go off the radar for a bit, at least I'll still be updating! So tell me, what's your opinion on angel books? I used to absolutely hate them, then they were just okay, but now? I've been reading a few that are incredible! I'm actually really enjoying them. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Have a fantastic day/night!
