Just wanted to say that your blog is amazing and don't worry about these that much because there are a lot people who love your blog and you just the way they are :) Rivhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13108956474967882930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6165856770454486638.post-4852319361252119402014-07-08T14:32:58.465-07:002014-07-08T14:32:58.465-07:00The awesome thing about the book blogosphere is th...The awesome thing about the book blogosphere is that everyone is SUPER nice. You shouldn't feel intimidated or awkward AT ALL. All bloggers love getting comments and emails, so I say, don't be shy! Same with requesting books from publicists. The worst that could happen is you won't get the book you requested, but you won't know until you try!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05344704891037668456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6165856770454486638.post-13532276944122048652014-07-08T11:51:04.360-07:002014-07-08T11:51:04.360-07:00+JMJ+

So I know how you feel. It only makes it worse when there seems to be a formula that everyone else is following and we compare ourselves to them and still come up short. I'd love to encourage you to keep doing your own thing, to follow your interests, and to trust your own voice . . . but I've been doing that for twice as long as you have, and my own "confessions" for the week are basically a summary of my dissatisfaction with the book blogging community. =P

#4 -- My family and friends know that I blog and they don't care at all! And most of the people I know say that they're pressured to give up blogging! You're an unusual case. =)

#10 -- Someone once asked me what my goal for my blogging was, and I said: "To keep going for as long as possible." That's a personal goal that has nothing to do with what anyone else is doing, so it helps me to stay focussed when I'm tempted to compare myself to others again. It helps to have some regular commenters. As long as they keep coming back, I try not to compare myself to other bloggers. =) Enbrethilielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03414765854670926854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6165856770454486638.post-51204292710005301032014-07-08T11:35:24.479-07:002014-07-08T11:35:24.479-07:00I take forever to do reviews too. Mainly because I have so many books to read but also because I worry that my reviews aren't long or detailed enough.
I don't have any blogger friends either but I've started commenting more on blog posts in an attempt to network more.
Great post!Jess (A Book Addict's Bookshelves)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11124656823477912821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6165856770454486638.post-36279338308780329902014-07-08T03:21:21.872-07:002014-07-08T03:21:21.872-07:00I feel the same so often! I was really nervous about writing reviews until I thought "screw this, they don't like it they can lump it" and since then it's been good (I think) and it's so much easier to write.
I know what you mean about feeling a little left out from the community. I don't think I have any proper blogging friends, although sometimes I jump in at the deep end and buddy-read with strangers.
Cora @ Tea Party PrincessCora - Tea Party Princesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06133308447865264575noreply@blogger.com
